Why Do You Specialize in Elopements?

We specialize in elopement videos and photos because we believe in the beauty and uniqueness of intimate ceremonies. Elopements offer a fun opportunity to capture raw emotions and genuine connections in stunning natural settings. We like to think of it as combing the best of things- human connection and the great outdoors.

By focusing on elopements, we can devote our full attention to each couple rather than other wedding day logistics or mayhem, ensuring that every moment is captured authentically and artistically. Through focusing on elopements, we are able to capture the feelings of your love stories in a way that celebrates your unique journey as a couple with the incredible bonus of showcasing the breathtaking landscapes that serve as the backdrop.

Being based in Colorado, we feel truly privileged to call this place home and have such easy access to stunning locations. And we want to share these amazing spots with you and your loved one for an unforgettable wedding experience! Beauty is best shared, and by specializing in elopements, we are able to merge our passions of photography and videography with basking in all Mother Nature has to offer alongside folks who are feeling the magic as well.

How Much Does It Cost To Have You be a part of Our Elopement?

Ah, the age old pricing question.

We recognize that weddings and elopements can get pricey quick so we totally get you asking this question. You may notice that we don’t have a dedicated pricing page on our website like other adventure elopement videographers or elopement photographers and that’s intentional!

Your story is unique and we strive to tailor every adventure elopement to your interests, passions, and needs. For that reason, we love to hop on a call with you and your partner before anything else to see how we can maximize your budget. Since every couple is different, prices can range depending on the experience and what you are looking for. A three day adventure elopement in Moab may cost a little different than a skiing elopement in Breckenridge so we do like to keep things flexible.

What is listed below is a rough estimate of what you can typically expect to invest because again, like every couple, every elopement film is different. This is all about YOU! We’re constantly updating prices to reflect how best to serve you on your special day so we can create custom experiences to fit exactly what you’re looking for.

*Something else to keep in mind— we accept a maximum of only two elopements a month. We do this so we can give each and every couple a truly unique, thoughtful, and authentic experience.

Are you able to be our officiant for our ceremony?

We absolutely can, and would be so honored! Both Roo and Mallory are registered officiants within the state of Colorado. Whether formally or informally, we are happy to help guide the ceremony process- one less thing you have to worry about!

As a note- the state of Colorado does not require an officiant or even a witness! But if you feel more comfortable with an officiant, let’s go that route.

Can You Help Us Pick Our Location?

For sure!

We’ve called Colorado our home for collectively nine years. At this point, we have spent most weekends exploring all the goodness Colorado has to offer (& there’s always more to see!). When we aren’t working on elopements, we choose to spend our time outside in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. We have a bright yellow van we take long weekend trips in all over the state. Colorado is such a unique place in which it has lots of different landscapes, vistas, and terrain to explore. From incredible surrounding mountain views to the deep red rocks in the foothills to prairie fields, there’s a lot going on here. You could change ecosystems more than once on a long hike! All that to say, we have seen a lot of Colorado and our list of favorite spots continues to grow. We have quite the list of locations to recommend to you for your adventure elopement depending on what you are looking for.

You may be thinking, “That’s super rad you can help us out there, but what if we want to elope outside of Colorado?!”

 How We Choose Locations!

That’s where our other experiences really come in to play. Both Roo and Mallory have traveled all over the United States and the world. If you let us know what you’re looking for, we’re happy to workshop the perfect place together, which we can toss suggestions out based on where we have been (or even haven’t, but feel good about!). All you need is one word to guide us and we can take it from there. Some words to think about for planning your adventure elopement include; mountains, beach, desert, cultural experiences, warm, cold, cozy, adventurous, rocky, snowy, surfing, skiing, airplanes, s’mores, vintage, etc. With elopements, the setting truly does set the scene and we love to pick a location that is what you envision and are stoked about going to!

Let’s get started on choosing your locations!

Do You Travel for Destination Elopements?

Don’t tempt us with a good time! We are indeed open to traveling to capture your elopement outside of Colorado. If you have a specific place in mind that’s special to you as a couple, we will meet you there!

I DOn’t Know How to plan an adventure elopement,

Can You Help Me?

Absolutely! we got you. That’s what we’re here for, and we’re so excited to collaborate with you!

We are visual learners here- so we made a whole video about it below that you can check out! For those who are more readers than watchers, we sum up all our thoughts below the video :-)

Step 1.) contact us

Can you tell we are excited about connecting with you and talking about your elopement dreams?

On our initial call, we like to ask you questions to get you thinking about what you’re wanting (if you don’t already know) such as; where do you want to go (i.e. beach vs. mountains?), what’s your idea of a perfect day with your partner (i.e. hiking in the wildflowers or picnic at an alpine lake), and what gets you excited about eloping (the intimacy, connection to nature or the simplicity of it all?). By hiring a photographer/videographer/planning right off the bat, they can assist in guiding you along the process leading up to the big day and answer any questions that pop up.

Step 2.) Choose An Activity

Choosing an activity that you want to incorporate within your elopement will ultimately dictate the location. That’s why landing on an activity is step two! An obvious example is if you would like to ski as your activity, the location would be the mountains in the winter. Depending on what you’re dreaming of, not every activity will be so direct, and that’s absolutely fine! We will brainstorm together to ensure all the pieces fall into place.

If you imagine camping and recite your vows at sunrise over some water, you may want to choose a warmer weather destination and summer elopement. I’ve made a whole video about opting for a full day elopement that may give some more insights into how to make the most of your adventure elopement.

Some of the most popular elopement activities are:

  • Hiking

  • Skiing or Snowboarding

  • Paddleboarding or Kayaking

  • Picnics

  • Rock climbing

  • Off-roading (Jeeping)

  • Camping/backpacking

*We love a good adventure, but we also appreciate moving slower outside. If you’re ready to elope and you don’t necessarily want to pair it with an activity, that’s all good with us. Let us know your pace and ideas and we can get creative together so your elopement reflects your most authentic selves.

Step 3.) Choose Date / Location

As we mentioned above, once you feel solid about an activity, the date and location can click into place pretty easily. Some places may require permits (like Maroon Bells in Aspen or Rocky Mountain National Park near Estes Park) so it’s good to make location and date decisions sooner rather than later. After the place and time is determined, the fun process of research can truly begin! You’re able to start looking into more specific hiking trails, lakes, overlooks, rock climbing crags, ski runs, etc. and get even more excited about your elopement. We are here to throw in suggestions too, so there’s no pressure to do this alone. If you find yourself getting stressed about finding that perfect location, don’t you worry friends, there’s so many beautiful places out there that we guarantee we’ll get something amazing for you!

A tangent—Weekday vs Weekend Elopement

Roo covers this a bit in the “How to Elope in Colorado” video below but we always recommend a WEEKDAY elopement. On weekends, the outdoors tends to get a little crowded (understandably so). Traffic is typically worse to trailheads, alpine lakes won’t be as secluded as you may have pictured, accommodation is more expensive, and so on. Weekday elopements are the sweet spot, in our opinion. Plus, eloping on a weekday also gives you a chance to extend your trip by having a weekend on either side of your destination elopement! Woohoo!

Step 4.) Get Your Wedding Clothes

Once you know what you’re doing and where you’re going, this will be a good time to start looking into your wedding day outfits. Something we frequently get asked is what the heck to wear if you’re hiking or having a more active day. Wedding dresses and suits are not necessarily known for their versatility or comfortability in the outdoors, but there’s ways to make it work. Over everything, we always say go for an option where comfort and confidence meet! Can’t go wrong if you’re comfy and confident.

You are writing the elopement rules here—there is no one specific way you have to look, a certain dress you have to wear, or a style of suit you have to bring. Go with what your authentic self would wear (but a base layer in the winter or more breathable fabric for the summer may feel really great!).

Step 5.) Finalize Logistics

Ohhh it’s really coming together by step five, y’all! By this point, you’re feeling so stoked on the activity you chose as a couple, where the big day is taking place, the date that feels best, and the folks to capture it all for you (hi there:-)). The last details will be buttoned up here and it’ll be smooth sailing.

Some final logistics could include:

*If you need assistance, ideas, or recommendations for any of these logistics we are happy to be lend an opinion (only if you ask! No overstepping here!).

make sure you or your photographer/videographer/planner writes out an outline for the day.

As folks that are guiding and capturing your elopement experience, we will provide you an outline of the big day. It doesn’t have to be followed too strictly, but knowing roughly the timeline of the day and how the elopement all plays out can be helpful. It also ensures you are able to do everything you dreamed of for your elopement and provides meetup spots for vendors or family members that may play a part in your day.

After all the finer details are determined, congratulate one another because all the planning is done and you can both go out and make a memory alongside the person you love most in the world!
