Real Elopement - Gondola Rides in Breckenridge, Colorado
Breckenridge Elopement
This was one of the most emotional elopements I’ve been a part of and for good reason...
Megan and Kyle had quite an amazing love story that consisted of nearly a decade together before deciding to get married. Originally hailing from Ohio, the happy couple wanted to elope in Colorado as a way to start their new life. As enthusiastic outdoor loving people, a Colorado elopement seemed like a perfect way to celebrate their life together.
From our initial phone call, I could tell that Megan and Kyle had a certain laid back approach to their wedding day that I knew would leave to some spontaneous and fun adventures. They decided on Breckenridge because they had seen one of my previous videos and loved the idea of walking around the cute little town as a way to end the day. We took it one step further and ended up taking the free gondola in Breckenridge up to Peak 8 so they could take a little scenic ride in their wedding clothes.
One thing that really stood out to me about this day, that I’ll remember forever, is the love and support Megan and Kyle felt from the community they brought to their elopement. They had about 10 guests and it was clear that it was a special for everybody. During the first look, Megan’s two dads were so adorable and rewatching that moment in the video always brings such a huge smile to my face. Then, Kyle’s first look later on in the video really shows why these two are meant to be together. This was such a day of joy and peaceful celebration that it was really amazing to be a part of.
Why I Love Doing Both Photo + Video
Over the past year, I’ve been focusing on doing both photo and video on an elopement day because over the course of 8+ hours together this is plenty of time to do both myself. A big goal of mine with my approach to elopement videography and elopement photography is to create a meaningful experience for the couples I work with. It’s not about staging and posing photos all day, it’s about making sure you leave the day with the feeling of love in your heart. So, I try to balance the more candid moments with the occasional important staged photos to make sure it’s captured exactly in the way you want.
