3 Signs That Eloping Is Right For You

Number one - You Want the Experience to Be About You and Not Your Guests

This is one of the more exciting rules that I enjoy talking about in the elopement space. You may hear all over the elopement industry that there are no rules. Although this may sound vague and slightly unhelpful when you’re trying to plan specific things to do on your elopement day, the sentiment still stands. This is about you and your partners love.

This day is about celebrating the start of your marriage in a way that’s true to you. There are a number of reasons this is a very freeing feeling. If you’re uncomfortable talking in front of people, have a complex family situation that may be stressful on your wedding day, don’t care for large parties, want to do more but spend less, or just straight up don’t want to think about our plan what other people do on your wedding day then planning an elopement may be best for you.

Number Two- You Don’t Want the Stress of Planning a Traditional Wedding

There’s a lot that goes into planning a traditional wedding. For elopement there are still some things to think about and be aware of but it’s often a lot more simple. If you don’t want to take on a part-time job of planning a large event during your engagement., Opting to elope maybe good for you. The reason elopements are easier to plan is that you don’t have to go through as many steps to make it official.

In Colorado the only thing you absolutely need to get married is you, your partner, in the marriage license. You’re welcome to add a wedding dress, a suit, flowers, a picnic, a cake, photographers, videographers, etc. but at its most stripped down and basic form you really just need you and that piece of paper. In other states you may need witnesses and an officiant so make sure to check the marriage license guidelines wherever you’re planning to elope (or hire an all-in-one photographer, videographer and/planner to do that for you)

Number Three - You Want To Spend Your Wedding Day In Nature

We will say upfront that not all elopements need to be Instagram worthy mountain top ceremonies to be legitimate. There are plenty of amazing places to get married including the backyard of your Airbnb‘s. It’s just about being outside, enjoying the smell of the trees, hear the birds in the air, feel the spray of the ocean on your skin and see the mountain peaks rise high into the sky. If you’re wanting to seek out that beauty on your wedding day, eloping may be right for you!
